June 24, 2015:Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD lead a Web Ex teleconference as the chief project designer tasked with development of a new shoulder glenoid replacement. Dr. Groh leads a team of surgeon designers and engineers. The team evaluated potential designs and targeted additional meetings including an anatomic demonstration. The new design centers on a novel fixation technique with a paucity of cement. The new glenoid prosthesis is slated for production in 2016.
