Dr. Groh Asked to Author Textbook on Clavicle Injuries by Springer Publishing

Springer Publishing has contacted Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD to elicit his services to author a new textbook on clavicle injuries. Dr. Groh came to the attention of the publishing company due to his expertise in shoulder surgery and his international teaching and publication resume. The textbook is tentatively set to cover approximately 300 pages divided into 15 chapters. Dr. Groh will author and co-author many of the chapters. Dr. Groh also plans on drawing on his network of shoulder experts from Harvard, Duke, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic and others to round out the additional chapters. The final book is expected by Spring Publishing in early 2016.

Dr. Groh Requested to Submit Articles for the Instructional Course Lecture Series Monograph

Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD, has been requested by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) to deliver an article based on his Instructional Lecture Course titled: All Things Clavicle—From AC to SC and All Points In Between. The AAOS determined the quality of the course delivered by Dr. Groh merited its inclusion in the exclusive monograph. This evaluation was a compilation of reviews conducted by the audience and independent reviewers sent by the AAOS to evaluate the course. The monograph is expected to publish in late 2015.

Dr. Groh Serves as Evaluator at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Annual Meeting

Groh, MD, served as a critical evaluator for a scientific session focused on prevention of shoulder surgery complications at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. Critical evaluators are chosen for their expertise, research, and publications in the field. The meeting is the largest orthopedic surgical gathering in the world, attracting over 40,000 attendees from across the globe. Dr. Groh also served on the committee generating the final scientific program for shoulder and elbow scientific papers presented at the meeting.

Dr. Groh Serves As Chief Faculty at Houston Hand and Wrist Symposium

Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD, a fellowship trained hand and shoulder surgeon, served as the Chief Faculty for a course centered on fracture treatment of hand, wrist and forearm. Dr. Groh delivered lectures and lead the anatomy dissection laboratory portion of the course. The course was attended by surgeons from throughout the southern United States.

Dr. Groh Signs Product Development Agreement with DJ Orthopedics

Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD signed a product development agreement with DJ Orthopedcis based in Austin, Texas. Dr. Groh has developed unique intellectual property related to shoulder replacement which has received a United States Patent 8480677, which has uniquely qualified him for this position. Dr. Groh has been selected as the Chief Designer for the design team. The project will focus on development of an enhanced fixation glenoid component for anatomical shoulder replacement. The implant is expected to augment and replace DJ Orthopedics current line of shoulder replacement products.

Dr. Groh to Moderate and Present at Instructional Lecture Course at The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Annual Meeting

Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD, has been chosen to lead a separate course at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons in Las Vegas to be held in March 2015. The course has been formulated by Dr. Groh and he has selected additional faculty from Harvard, Duke and the University of Florida to participate. The course has been run by Dr. Groh in the past with glowing reviews and is scheduled to repeat due to is popularity. The course is entitled: All Things Clavicle—From AC to SC and All Points In Between. The course focuses on clavicle fractures and dislocations and is open only to orthopedic surgeons. Attendance is expected to reach an all time high and has been shifted into the Grand Ballroom at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
