Clinical Research

The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons is committed to scientific research in orthopaedic surgery. The AAOS supports and conducts research involving patients that shapes the future of evidence-based orthopaedic practice. This includes clinically relevant research involving patients to answer questions related to the usefulness of examination procedures and diagnostic tests, the effectiveness, efficacy and safety of surgery and other therapeutic interventions and the power of prognostic indicators. I actively participate in orthopaedic research and education. As a result of this commitment, I have a financial arrangement with Depuy Orthopedics and Integra to support these activities. I am involved in conducting clinical research in shoulder arthroplasty (shoulder replacement) and radial head replacement (elbow replacement)
