Asheville orthopedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD has been selected by the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons to participate as a lecturer for a regional shoulder surgery symposium. Dr. Groh will discuss treatment algorithms for shoulder injuries including surgical management. The course will take place in Nashville Tennessee and has registration from orthopedic surgeons throughout the southeast as attendees.

Dr. Groh Nominated By the American Society for Surgery of the Hand to Spearhead Orthopedic Manufacturers Industrial Relations Committee

Groh, MD has been selected by The American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), to spearhead a new educational partnership between the society and manufacturers. Dr. Groh has been assigned key contacts within the industry and will report on progress at the annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand in Austin, TX.

Dr. Groh Chairs Scientific Session on Reverse Shoulder Replacement for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Meeting

Asheville orthopedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD was reappointed to the Shoulder and Elbow Program Committee for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). Dr. Groh has served in this capacity during the past two years. As his next task, Dr. Groh will lead the evaluation of the scientific program regarding reverse shoulder replacement at the annual AAOS meeting. The meeting will be held in Orlando FL and has over 10,000 orthopedic surgeons from around the world registered for attendance. Dr. Groh was an evaluator for the inclusion of presentations at this meeting and their subsequent publication.

Dr. Groh and Springer Publishing Finalize Author Participation for Book “Clavicle Injuries”

July 28, 2015: Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD and Springer publishing www.springer.com based in New York City have finalized an author participation selection for the book entitled “Clavicle Injuries.” Dr. Groh has been selected by Springer Publishing as the Editor in Chief for the book and he will also write a chapter on sternoclavicular injuries. Dr. Groh has drawn on his extensive contacts in shoulder surgeons across North America to achieve an array of internationally renowned physicians. The author’s institutions include Harvard, Duke, Emory and the University of Toronto among other acclaimed locations. The book is scheduled for publication in 2016.

Dr. Groh Recertifies in Clinical Research

July 28, 2015: Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD completed recertification and reexamination in clinical research. The course is sponsored by the University of Florida. Completion of 15 educational modules coupled with a unit examination is required for recertification. Dr. Groh is the chief clinical investigator for two national, prospective, randomized studies investigating the efficacy of should replacements and elbow replacements. In addition, Dr. Groh has ongoing research and funding applications regarding rotator cuff tears and revision reverse shoulder arthroplasty.

Dr. Groh Signs Product Development Agreement with ConMed/Liventech

July 26, 2015:Asheville orthopaedic surgeon Gordon I. Groh, MD signed a product development agreement with Conmed, based in Tampa, Fl. Dr. Groh has developed unique intellectual property related to soft tissue reattachment in the shoulder.
